On Saturday, April 9, at 11:15 a.m. in Albany Public Library, six excellent storytellers from the northeast region share world tales and diverse storytelling styles in a round robin performance sure to please the entire family. Jonathan Bailey (631) 567-1824 Email: jonathanbailey@optonline.net Jonathan Bailey, a long time member of Toastmasters, has turned his talents to storytelling. He has appeared at the South Street Seaport in New York City and many Long Island colleges. Jonathan delights in making his stories come alive with costumes and character voices. The New York Times has described his storytelling skills as “Unique.” In 2003, Jonathan won the Toastmasters Humorous Speech Contest for New York City’s metropolitan area.

For 16 years, Kent has been the director of Camp Fowler, a children’s camp and year-round retreat facility in the Adirondacks and the telling of stories has become an integral part of his work there. He loves to tell folk tales and stories that convey a sense of hope and wonder in the world.

"A good story keeps them coming back for more." Nancy specializes in historical characterizations from the late l9th century. Her tales of emancipation, women's suffrage, and orphaned children have been heard at numerous public libraries and historical societies. She also writes and tells stories with more traditional themes and has appeared at First Night in Albany and at the Story Sundays at the Glen Sanders Mansion series.

He brings new life to many of the old standards and is constantly writing and telling new insightful and humorous stories that stem from his personal and professional scientific background. He performs solo and also in tandem with his wife, Dee Ellen Lee, as "Frank-Lee Speaking." Together, they are repeat tellers at the Saratoga Springs Dance Flurry and have recently performed in diverse venues in the Capital Region. |
