2005 Workshops

Friday, April 8, 2005 - Upper Hudson Library System, Albany
10:00-11:30 a.m. Building a Community of Storytellers (and Writers)

A workshop for librarians and teachers with Marni Gillard.

We are ALREADY storytellers! Any librarian or teacher can use this natural ability to help young people or adults gain confidence, create community, or write with more focus, structure and skill. In this workshop we will practice the NATURAL art of storytelling by starting with memory tales. Then wešll explore the folktales wešve come across in books or media. Wešll touch on storytelling as a pre-writing and revision tool for those interested in connecting storytelling with writing. Come see how to make storytelling an easy, everyone-is-involved avenue to performing, writing, and getting along. Cost: $20.
