The Gingerbread Man
By Courtney Ciervo

Hi, I’m the cow from the story The Gingerbread Man. Right now I would like to tell you my side of the story. One day I was eating grass when I smelled something sweet. I thought it was just my imagination, until I saw something small and brown. When it came closer I saw it was a gingerbread man. He started babbling to me and it got annoying. I heard him say something like, “You can’t chase me!” When he was talking he was really boring so I drowned him out. I thought, if I catch him he would go well with milk. I thought to myself, I can’t let him know I want to eat him, so I can’t let it out. Then I couldn’t contain it and let it out. Then he ran away. A few seconds later 1 saw why he was running. I saw animals and people running after him. I thought I might still have a chance to get him, so I followed the others. While I was running I thought, for a cookie lie sure can run fast! I was running really fast until I got tired. I wanted to rest badly, but 1 knew that if I rested someone would get him before me. So I kept running faster. After a long time of running I realized he stopped because everyone stopped in front of me and I bumped into them. It hurt badly. I continued on. He stopped at a lake. I was going to go in the water and eat him, but I forgot my floaties, so I gave up. When I started walking away I heard a fox ate him. I thought to myself, “he is lucky he can swim.” I will remember this.
