Mary Murphy

Mary Murphy Mary Murphy is an accomplished writer and teller of stories whose performances evoke the everyday as well as the universal. Mary has been a featured teller at the Rockland County Storytelling Festival and at the Clearwater Festival in Croton, NY. She has performed at Princeton University for the 50th anniversary conference for the journal Sacred Journey, the National Storytelling Festival, the Hawaii Storytelling Festival, the Clever Gretchen Folklore Conference and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Her stories have been anthologized in Give A Listen: Stories of Storytelling in Schools (NCTE, 1994) and in such magazines as Sacred Journey and Mature Life where her story “Angels - No Wings, Please!” won a national award. In addition to performing and writing, Mary is a talented and sought-after coach of young storytellers.
