Directions from I-787: Take Empire State Plaza exit. After driving through two tunnels, bear right onto Swan Street. Follow Swan Street several blocks to Elk Street. Turn left onto Elk Street. In second block on Elk Street, turn left into the Albany Public Library parking lot. Free parking is also available on street.

Directions From the South: Follow Route 22 North through the business area. The library is on the right just before St. Mary's Academy.

Directions From the North: Follow Route 22 South from North Hoosick. The library is on the left just past St. Mary's Academy, before entering the business area.

The library is located at the corner of Route 151 and Michael Road, East Greenbush.

Directions from Routes 9 & 20: Turn onto Route 4. Make right onto Route 151 East (Luther Road). Turn right onto Michael Rd. Library will be on your right.

Directions from I-90 East: Take Exit 9. Make a right onto Route 4. At first light, turn left onto Route 151 East (Luther Road). Follow directions above.

Directions from the North: This library is minutes from the southern end of the Northway (I-87). Take Route 20 West at the end of The Northway (Route 87). The library is located at 2228 Western Ave., one mile west of the intersection of Route 155 and Route 20, on the left, opposite the Elementary School.

Directions from the South and West: Take Exit 24 off I-87 (NYS Thruway). Follow the signs for Route 20 West. Follow directions from Route 20 as above.

Directions from the East: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to the NYS Thruway. Take Exit 24 off I-87 (NYS Thruway). Follow the signs for Route 20 West. Follow directions from Route 20 as above.

Directions: From I-787 north or south, take exit for Route 2 East. The Town Hall is located on Route 2 just east of Route 22.

Pine Hills Branch, Albany Public Library, 517 Western Avenue, Albany, NY, (518) 482-7911

Directions: The library is on the north side of Western Avenue (Route 20), in the block east of Allen Street. It is across from Steamer 10 Theater and the police station.

Directions from Albany: Take Route 85 south to Rensselaerville. Take a left onto Main Street. The library is the red Tudor-style building on the right.

Directions from Albany: Take I-90 to exit 8. Stay on Route 43 until the intersection of 43 and 66 in Sand Lake. Take a left onto Route 66. Library is the second drive on the right with parking and entrance behind the building on the second level.

Directions from Troy: Take Route 66 south into Averill Park. The library is on the left just before the light at the intersection of Routes 43 and 66. The library is located on the second floor--drive goes up a hill to parking behind the building on the second level. Entrance is also at that level.

Directions from the West: Take I-90 eastbound to exit 5 (Everett Road). Turn right at the top of the exit ramp, turn left at the next light onto Watervliet Avenue Extension. Pass the Clarion Hotel. Turn right at the next light and then left onto Essex Street. UHLS is the fourth building on the left.

Directions from the East: Take I-90 westbound to exit 5 (Everett Road). Turn left at the top of the exit ramp, go over I-90 and through one stoplight. At the next light, turn left onto Watervliet Avenue Extension. Pass the Clarion Hotel. Turn right at the next light and then left onto Essex Street. UHLS is the fourth building on the left.

Directions From Route 20: Take Route 155 south approx. 4 miles. Turn right onto Route 85A for 1 mile. Turn right onto Route 156, toward Altamont. (Smith's Tavern is at junction of 85A and 156.) Take next right onto Route 208. The library is 1/4 mile on the right.

Directions From Route 85 (New Scotland Avenue): Go west to Route 85A. Turn right onto Route 85A and take to junction 85A and 156. Proceed as above.

The library is located near Exit 4 of the Northway.

Directions from the South: Take Exit 4. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and enter the right-hand lane of Wolf Road. Turn right onto Albany Shaker Road. The library is about 100 yards ahead on the left.

Directions from the North: Take Exit 4 and enter the right-hand lane of the exit ramp. After the Y in the exit ramp, enter the left lane of the ramp. At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 155, toward the Albany Airport. At the junction with Albany Shaker Road, turn left onto Albany Shaker Road and proceed across Wolf Road. The library is about 100 yards ahead on the left.
